telc German B1 exam
TANDEM Munich is a recognized telc examination center for the preparation and administration of the telc German B1 exam, which we offer six times a year. The German B1 certificate demonstrates that you have acquired sufficient language skills at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Registration takes place online. Please upload a copy of your passport or identity card with your application.
Exam fee: € 160
The German B1 certificate is a recognized proof of language proficiency required for naturalization in Germany. It confirms that you can confidently use the German language in many everyday and professional situations. To pass the exam successfully, you should have completed approximately 480 to 600 hours of German lessons. We recommend taking one of our specialized preparation courses to increase your chances of success.
The German B1 exam consists of 2 parts
I. Written examination
Start: Friday, 1:30 p.m.
(Duration approx. 150 minutes)
- Reading (Part 1-3)
- Language elements (Part 1-2)
- Listening comprehension (Part 1-3)
- Writing a semi-formal e-mail
II. Oral examination
Start: Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
(Duration: approx. 15 minutes, 20 minutes of preparation time, 2 examiners assess 2 students)
